Artistic Concept

eye-eye-eye’s creations take as their starting point moments from the life of Émile Forest, an unconventional character who moves through the world as an observer rather than an actor. Like a Polaroid, each work captures a fleeting moment of his existence and delivers it in the form of text, performance, and exhibition.

A Mosaic in Polaroids

Three-Faceted Dramaturgy

The works presented take the form of a performance where multiple modes of expression (theatrical, visual, musical...) engage in a dialogue, chosen specifically for their narrative qualities. The performance is paired with an exhibition and a publication to create a three-part whole, united by a single overarching dramaturgy that serves as the common thread.

These three autonomous components mutually enrich one another; they offer echoing experiences that progressively deepen the viewer's perspective. Following the principle of personal culture, the performance, exhibition, and publication provide access to the same underlying reality, enriching its meaning and understanding.

Individual and Collective Reflection

Émile becomes a discreet witness to a world marked by the loss of traditional reference points, the reconfiguration of our sensibilities, and profound shifts in how we inhabit the world and coexist. His narratives intersect lived experience and sensitive observation, shifting the individual perspective into a space of collective resonance.

The Necessity of Art

Through this prism, Forest raises an essential question: what becomes of art today, in its infinite formal freedom, when faced with the growing imperatives of profitability and success? Does it still fulfill its primary necessity?
